February has been a busy month. New births, more snow, great company and a moment’s pause to be with family.
If I were to speak from my social work, counselling-coaching experience…simply put, change, uncertainty, volatility, is what can make us feel fragile. Yet, we are also strong. Consider we have had these experiences before and we got through it. Looking back, we became better because of learning and growing through the hardships.
This year, I am consciously and cautiously optimistic, forever exploring opportunities to improve both the lives of people. Also the spaces we occupy, dwell and thrive. I believe, collectively we have an intrinsic value and motivation to meet the current challenges.
My experience, this quarter has been fraught with confronting from the ground-up, how affordability has displaced people within what is an unsustainable political and free market environment.
As a broker, I am immersed in both the public and private sector spaces. Negotiation is a process. “Compromise” is not a dirty word. I am all about calling out the elephant in the room.
Yes, more listings are on the market. Certain segments and asset classes are now coming on-line as the alternative better option. Concerns about properties sitting on the market can be remedied by thinking about making improvements.
On the contractor side, having worked hands on in new builds, renovations and custom projects, I can say with certainty: planning, mitigating risk and working with the right mix of skilled workers can make a project complete.
